Default Best Suggestions Ever part 1

Hello everyone, I recently got back into Guild Wars after two years without playing at due to college. Wowzers, how the game has changed, and for the better! Zaishen Menagerie, Books, differentiation between PvE and PvP skills, Zaishen Coins, Missions, Bounties, etc. So much has improved! I have been reacquainting myself with the game, and I noticed a few things which made me want to offer just a few more ideas for improvements that I think would make the game even better than it has become. My apologies if these have been suggested before, I have not had time to look through the forums, plus hopefully I will be presenting my own unique argument, so here goes:

1) Make armor have its own storage on a character, pure armor storage. This could be a bag or just an orb looking icons to the left of the bags to represent magical storage space. This armor storage space would have a slot for every single unique piece of armor that a character/profession can craft (so a warrior could have every single 5-piece set of warrior armor + 1 piece of each type of common armor). I was originally going to suggest allowing unlimited pieces of armor to be stored in the storage space (because I have 5 Elite Platemail helmets for example, one for each attribute, and it would be nice to put them all in the storage space), but I realized that might tax the servers more than Anet would like, so instead I keep my suggestion to just allowing 1 of each craftable armor piece to be stored in the armor storage, which any extras (such as 4 of my 5 elite platemail helmets) having to take up regular inventory space (but we have equipment bag space now so that is ok)

Benefits: Huge money sink. I think I remember people saying that Anet adds a bunch of things to the game as money sinks to sort of balance the economy out, and that is also why weapons are customizable or some such. Well, this would be a huge money sink, because I know that if people had the option they would collect every set of armor for each character in the game (some I bet already try). Also, it would allow people to mix and match armor as they like, and would allow people to have an armor set for each attribute setup they might have (so I would not need to have 5 sets of the same helmet, but instead have 5 sets of armor to run each type of potential warrior build for example). If this were enacted, dropping the price of the armors that are still 15k down to 10k would be a good idea. As much as I would like this to be free… I would be willing to pay $10 (FOR ACCOUNT, NOT PER CHARACTER!) for this feature. Some might say that this is unnecessary considering one can buy 4 additional storage spaces, but they would be wrong considering that if you are a weapon/shield skin collector (not to mention material collector or collectable drop collector), even 80 more spaces is not enough to hold all of the possible armors for every single character in addition to everything else. I think that is enough for that idea.

Edit:

Let me give another example of why having a slot for each profession where profession-specific armor can be placed is a good idea.

Lets say I appreciate Art, and more specifically, I appreciate Guild Wars Art. I collect all the armor and weapons skins there are. I have played all parts of the game, so there is nothing more to do. So I take a break.

One thing I would like to do is to be able to log-in and look at all of the different Art there is and all of the different varieties.

Or perhaps I would like to take a screenshot of how each armor set looks with each weapon in the game.

Some people say that if I want to do this, I should spend real-life money to buy storage slots and do this.

However, unless they implemented a way to see all of the items on each character and in storage from the log-in screen, it would be too much of a pain to try and find the desired armor on one of one's mules

The idea is to make it possible for each character to collect all of the different Armor skins and have those armor skins easily accessible, the latter part of which is not achievable by purchasing mule slots.

This has been implemented in a form close to your description:

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Equipment_pack

It's the reward you get for performing zquests.

Trust me, even a Heavy Equipment pack (on every character), will be instantly filled with weapons-only, leaving no space for armor.

Also, even with additional storage space, as already noted, if one is an armor-collector, and collects every single set of armor... for every profession... Then only by spending way too much money on additional storage slots can one have enough space to store everything one wishes, AND.......

Having to search Storage or other characters to find a set of armor when all one wishes to do is try it on is far too much trouble, when all the sets of armor could be right there in a special space.

As Trust Me has already said , this idea has already been implemented with the weapon/armor storage bags A-Net added with the last content update, how you choose to fill them is up to you , if you want more storage sadly they have decided you have to pay for it in the form of microtransactions. http://www.guildwars.com/products/ex...ge/default.php

I would certainly love this. I like to collect armors and it would be nice to have a very specific place for them. However, I think the implementation of the heavy equipment packs does answer it to a large extent. Yes, they can and might well be filled with weapons, but I think that HEP's need to be more prolific before we can accurately judge what we are lacking.

Though yes, it would be nice to have an armor trunk with lots of space.

If your going to add storage it makes more sense to add general storage rather than armour specific storage.

The reason being most players do not need the extra space for armour so it would only benefit a minority, though it could encourage players to get armour obsessive adding to the money sink effect.

Personally I think they could make all identical items stack and increase the numbers from 250.
Doubt it will happen though.

If you read the forum rules, it tells you to SEARCH before posting a new idea, as it probably isn't new. Storage has been suggested a LOT, and armor storage particularly has had a few topics. Add to those instead of starting a new topic.

And best ever? lmao, if only everyone was that cool.

Armor unlocking it's way better.

No matter how many slots your bags have, you'll fill them sooner or later, and since different professions have different number of different sets of armor, it's a not a good idea to have that kin of pack for all of them.

Armor sets take incredible amounts of space. The equip packs did very little improvement, even 20 slots is nothing when a collection of elite armors can take 100+ slots. I still have to use other characters (mules) to carry armor pieces for the playable chars, equip packs allowed only to move several weapon sets from mules for easier access.

Storage issues aren't closed with the equip packs. Players are only going to have more and more items and they want to, as except titles and pvp there's not much more to do in this game.

And armor unlocking in PvE would be terribad. Put-in/take-out interfaces would take the same server space for storage of armor data, but wouldn't lead to any ridiculous duping nonsense.

This is an MMO. Storage space is always at a premium. It is the same in any other MMO, one never has enough storage

We just got storage. Sure it isn't infinite, nor is it up to your standards, but here is a hint, it never will be.

100+ sets of armor, unneeded. This is your luxury. Luxury takes up money and space. If there is not enough storage to play the game (which there is certainly enough), there is a problem. If there is enough storage for all luxury items (which there currently isn't), there is a different problem.

Hey MagmaRed, I noticed that in the MAKE COMMON HEADPIECES ACCOUNT WIDE? you said that you think we need a lot more gold sinks. Well, my idea would create A LOT more gold sinks, and would make it so that people would be more likely to use it. If Anet requires people to buy additional storage spaces, many of them will not do so, they will just stick with their current armor. But if storage were implemented that made it easy to collect armor and almost something one should do (because it is there), then a lot more people would pour money into armors.

Indeed, I wish more people were as cool as me, it would make the world a better place

Already been done. If you can't carry your armor and weapons in the 65 slots you are given, you're doing something wrong.

I have every suit of warrior armor in the game for my warrior. This requires nearly 5 full storage characters. A heavy pack simply isnt going to cut it especially since heavy packs are not realistically/reasonably attainable.
